seeking interactive visual network/graph/flowchart layout tool

[i am searching online, but haven't exactly hit pay-dirt yet (touch
graph, amcharts, ...).]

i'm seeking a network/graph and flowchart interactive design application

* online (flash, java as remote best alternative)
* round trip (xml -> interactive graph -> xml again)
* layout tools (grid, attraction/repulsion, auto-layout)
* nigh if not outright free
* open sourcish so when resources permit new domain-specific features
can be added
* is actually a good product (doesn't make my eyes bleed when i use it)
