Hello,

I have never had much success in working with GIMP, mainly because I have
familiar MSW alternatives to work with. I have resolved to try to do so
because I want to move in that direction, but when you need something now
you don't want to spend half a day finding out how.

The user interface is often the achilles heel in making the switch - often
it is just too difficult. It is not the complexity of a program that makes
it difficult - mainly the obscurity of the UI.

I came across this the other day on a discussion about the user
interface. I thought that it was useful comment, even for those who don't
get beyond writing scripts or a toy database for contacts etc.
