Well, so it is!  Personally I think it should not be posted.  I don't like
seeing the flame wars archived.

Anyway, back to the problem at hand.

Outlook seems to have some kind of magic pixie-dust that correctly encodes
Hanzi.  If I send an email from Outlook (in Chinese), I can read it
correctly (in Chinese) in the webmail client.  If I then forward that
message from the webmail client (which still looks okay) back to Outlook,
Outlook displays it as junk!

Driving me crazy.

I tried a suggestion of Ken Wong's (from the "Chinese webpages encoding"
thread on non-technical), but I still have the same unsatisfactory
behaviour: Hanzi, sent from webmail while the browser is encoding in UTF-8,
appears in Outlook as:

亲爱的王琳：

Etc...

In other character sets the same line appears as:

Ç×°®µÄÍõÁÕ£º
