Installing Fedora on laptop

Hi All,

I have just bought a new notebook (LG LM40a).  I would like to run a
dual boot system (using Fedora) however I cannot find any info on
installing linux on this model notebook.  Actually I am happy to try and
work on the problems as I come across them, however I am hesitant to
take the first step as I read somewhere that if the screen settings are
not right you could kill your LCD.  Is this still an issue with the
latest linux distributions?
