I am trying to install an IMAP server on my RH9 workstation.  I want to use
UW-IMAP.  I need to build the installation but am uncertain what type of
linux I am using.  According to the make instructions I must use the
abbreviation related to my system.

 

Here is the list.  Which one should I use for a standard RH9 install?

 

# ldb Debian Linux
# lnx Linux with traditional passwords and crypt() in the C library
# (see lnp, sl4, sl5, and slx)
# lnp Linux with Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM)
# lrh RedHat Linux 7.2
# lsu SuSE Linux
# lyn LynxOS
# sl4 Linux using -lshadow to get the crypt() function
# sl5 Linux with shadow passwords, no extra libraries
# slx Linux using -lcrypt to get the crypt() function

Use an IMAP mail account.

Move all mail into the IMAP repository with Evolution.

Load up Outlook and download it back again by connecting back to the same
IMAP account.  With all folder structures and read/unread flags set
correctly.

You just need an IMAP account now.  How much email do you have?  I could
make a temp account for you on my private Aus server for the transfer.....

At the risk of being ostracized from the linux community I have a question

uses WinXP.  I would like to install a dual boot system in the future but
don't have the time to fiddle around with it just now.  In the mean time I
need to transfer my mail messages from evolution 1.4 on my desktop to
Outlook 2003 on my notebook.  I can always move them back once I have my
dual boot system up and running properly. I can find plenty of info on how
to make the migration from Outlook to evolution but nothing on the reverse
process.  Does anyone have any experience with this? and willing to admit it
