Hi All, I have purchased an internal Samsung DVD burner (Model TS-H552U) which I am trying to install on a RH9 system. The drive is detected correctly on startup as well as by 'cdrecord -scanbus'. The problem I now have is getting the thing to write. I have been doing some research and it appears that the default dvdrecord tool including with RH is not up to the job. I have installed 'dvd+rw-tools' and have been trying to use 'growisofs' to write to the DVD. I have already created an iso and have been trying to burn it using 'growisofs -Z /dev/scd0=test.iso'. Every time I try it I get a write failed: input/output error. I have tried tracking down the issue on the internet, but most of it refers to users of 2.6 kernel. I am not ever sure if kernel 2.4.20-30 even supports these tools (although I assume it does since I installed them using a RH9 compiled rpm). I would be interested to hear whether anyone else has encountered similar problems. Regards, Ben
