Matteo, 'localhost' is a reserved name, and you can't use it as a 
hostname if you're using TCP/IP connections. It always refers to the 
local computer - the same as 127.0.0.1. It's the loopback address.

I honestly don't know all the different ways that Windows Networking 
would use to find the samba fileshare, but I imagine it's giving up 
right then. Try choosing a different name.
