Hey all,

So, I am setting up a server for a client on a new HP box. My original
plan was to use Debian stable, but the HP nic card has special drivers
that are only provided by HP in rpm format. I don't want to install RPM
on debian (even possible?!). So I thought about going back to the Red
Hat 9 - but super old, and disc 2 of my install discs is coastered, so I
would have to redownload it. Red Hat Enterprise, which would be cool,
is over $300, free is preferred.

What would people recommend? Is Fedora Core # considered "Production
Stable" now? I really wanted to use a package manager, which I wouldn't
be able to use with Red Hat 9 (unless I go to Fedora Legacy, which I
could use apt or yum, but the updates are only security fixes, so again,
really old.)

So, suggestions!? This pay-for-linux thing is getting on my nerves..
(i.e. Red Hat Enterprise blah blah)

Chris
