Thanks Richard and Ken for your responses to my post. Been on a business trip
and am now back in Beijing...

Looked under Synaptic under bind and didn't have anything with cache /
caching.

*** Is there a RPM repository that I should be looking at?

I then did a google search, and there were hits on DNS caching server.

*** Is there a specific application called bind-cachingdns or are you
suggesting setting up a DNS caching server under linux to speed things up?

BTW, can someone recommend good free non-Chinese DNS servers out there?

I noticed in /etc/resolv.conf that all my nameservers were from 202.96.. which
I am assuming is Beijing telecom's?
