Ola, my Debian Linux provides hsftp, which avoids the command line (if that is what you mean by easy to use) and uses ssh, which means everything is encrypted. However, this requires all file transfers to be done manually. There are, of course, several different ways to keep files automatically synchronized on two different machines, but setup may not qualify for "simple".... Clayton # apt-cache show hsftp Package: hsftp Priority: optional Section: utils Installed-Size: 44 Maintainer: Ola Lundqvist <[email protected]> Description: Ssh client with look and feel of a FTP client hsftp emulates and provides the look-and-feel of an ftp client session, but uses ssh to transport commands and data. No dedicated daemon (apart from sshd) is required.
