Pick any of the hundreds of abbreviated unix commands. Geeks often pronounce things like etc, commands and acronymns as if there were real words. Many times they are used as verbs, adjectives and often entirely incorrectly. Everyone who says "what is your IP" is making a very basic grammatical error. It makes no sense, because you don't mean to ask what is your Internet Protocol, you want to know "what is your IP address".
