If this email is real, they're getting rid of students.depaul.edu on June 20th.
Apparently Windows Live email services provide better functionality, more storage, and more portability, "amenities that our DePaul's students.depaul.edu legacy server cannot provide."
I just logged into students.depaul.edu. uname -a claims that it is a 64-bit Linux-based machine. Assuming this isn't security through obscurity, I'm pretty sure more storage space is possible on a 64-bit Linux-based system, and frankly, I don't see how proprietary Windows-based email is more portable.
And it's email. How much more functionality does Windows Live email provide?
Are there any sys admins on this list that could give more background on this decision?
