Very nice. No I agree, match dev and prod environments definitely if
it makes life easier for you, no shame in that. For me, I learned a
lot more from Gentoo than I think I would've learned starting from
Ubuntu, although I can appreciate Ubuntu for the market exposure it's
getting. Turning people on to Linux is always a good thing. It is also
my understanding that RHEL is widespread being a corporate Linux
sponsor, I can see where you're coming from.

It sounds like you have worked at hosting companies before. Do you
mind sharing what that's like? I've never had the fortune of
experiencing that before and always wondered. Feel free to reply
personally if it's off-topic.
