South Island Internet Outages

Hi there
Our internet went down about 10am on good friday and came up again 4pm
on saturday 19th. It was down for over 24 hours. We are on Orcon ADSL.
I got a friend in Invercargill on Telecom Fibre... his internet is
still not working.
Anyone got an idea whether at was all internet providors that went
down or just a few of them? The orcon website said that a fibre cable
was cut somewhere up north and had to be repaired. Apparently they are
using an alternative link.

Service is re-routed via an alternative link. Equipment may require a
reboot to come back online.
Does anyone else know of any news etc about it?
