Worik, I just use Gnome Sound Recorder for the recording phase then import the saved wave file into Audacity later for any editing. I use a Edirol UA1X usb device. Have been able to edit 2 hour sessions in Audacity with no problems. If Audacity did crash I would still have my original material.
