Thanks for the explantations & tips.  I've never had a calendar - the one
on the wall works OK.  I've now (I think) got Google calendar set up, will
see if it shows anything new, when anything new is added.  I've asked it to
send me notifications so I don't have to look at it.  That's the snag about
them, same as the one on the wall - got to remember to look at it :-\
