Hi everybody i have been given a small acerpower 1000 computer here which ive had for a while. Its a small form factor which uses a laptop power supply, cd rom and ram. it has an am2 cpu socket. anyways now im looking to upgrade the cpu. acer support for upgrading these seems to be non existent. when I got it there was a single core 3800+ in it and i upgraded to a x2 4200+. i am wondering if anyone has had any experience with these and also on amd cpu upgrades in general. the 4200+ has a tdp of 65w, am i reasonably safe to assume that it will support any 65w am2 cpus. what would my chances be of using am2+ cpus and what recomendations would you have. oh yeah the chip set is nforce 430 mcp with a geforce 6150. cheers for the help Greig _______________________________________________ DunLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ethernal.org/listinfo/dunlug DunLUG Wiki - http://dunlug.kallisti.net.nz/
