Hi, Some time ago I asked on this forum for advice regarding hosting a server at home. Jim kindly offered a wealth of useful information and hints. It took me quite some time to work out all the details, what a great learning exercise! I cannot say I am completely done yet, but I put together some notes on what I've done so far. Feel free to peruse and comment: https://freeandthings.wordpress.com/ My to-do list before I can switch over onto my new server: 1) Sort out the email: I am currently playing with zoho.com free account and will look into possibility of setting up my email hosting with them. Does anyone know of any other free email provider that could do the same? Ideally no ads and local. Any experiences with similar setup? An alternative would be to migrate to a regular free email (e.g. @zoho.com) and setup a mail server on my box just to receive emails sent to my own domain (from people who wouldn't know about the change yet). Is that a sensible idea, Jim? 2) Setup ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to keep an eye on my logs. 3) Customize a bit more my Piwigo installation and then load the content. Cheers, Tomas _______________________________________________ DunLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ethernal.org/listinfo/dunlug DunLUG Wiki - http://dunlug.kallisti.net.nz/
