So back at home the problem persists on my ADSL connection, cable or no cable. No problem with openDNS servers status. The only thing I can access is my router web page.
*no mozilla
*no updates (could not connect to http://nz2.archive.ubuntu.com  or any other mirror site.
So I can't install resolvconf.
No problems to connect to my network with XP.

Help. I'm now going for a run to calm down

0k so I have clean install of ubuntu 9.10
The network icon states 100% wireless connection> but I cannot connect to internet through mozilla or apt-get updates.
Likewise when the ethernet cable is connected, network icon states eth0
connection active. Once again no internet.
So i can't post the output of ifconfig , lsmob & iwconfig :
I hope this doesn,t mean my laptop is too old for 9.10 as there is no problem connecting via XP. Maybe I have to roll back to 9.04

cheers
