Recently, I changed my D-Link WiFi router modem from secure to open. (What a hassle!) Someone visited with a laptop. It could 'see' the wireless network, but would not connect, saying it couldn't get a certificate of some sort. I went through my laptop settings and generally fiddled around, trying to change the visitor's laptop to the same settings, but couldn't solve the problem; even assigning the same fixed IP address details to the visitors's computer, (HP), and gave up. A www search hasn't been very helpful. The user has one of those Telecom wireles USB 'dongles' for roaming Internet connection, so I didn't want to fiddle too much, in case that device got screwed over in some way. Any clues on this 'certificate' thing? Or, more importantly, how to disable the requirement in visiting laptops and make the connection work? _______________________________________________ HBLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.linux.net.nz/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hblug
