Re: off topic: need someone to recover Windows for a friend

Give her linux, its bundled with pretty much all the drivers you need :)

In my experience, recovery disks are useless because the manufacturers
bundle a whole lot of crapware with them which you have to spend ages
uninstalling (unless you want the computer to run as slow as molasses)

What I would do is google the model number and download the drivers
from the manufacturers website

(also, I dont know anyone who wastes their time with windows anymore - sorry)
