You can also setup something like dyndns.net or no-ip.org - which
allows you to have a hostname such as chris.dyndns.org which will be
automatically updated to your public IP address. Many routers contain
an update client for dyndns built into their web interface, if not you
can download the client (tiny/cross platform) and run it on one of
your PCs. Can also be handy to setup on clients machines.

I also see that newer versions of vinegre support more advanced
features, such as scaling the screen, and allowing reverse
connections. You can then use the ultraVNC tool which allows you to
create a standalone exe for windows which contains a VNC server which
connects to your VNC client running on your machine (hence the reverse
connection) - you have to pinhole port 5500 to your PC for this to
work.
