Appropriate LUG Topics

I was recently speaking with a friend of mine about his troubles using 
Ghostscript on windows to create PDF documents and suggested he join 
the LUG mailing list and discuss it here.

The topic of "what is appropriate for a LUG topic" came up. He is a die 
hard windows user, mostly because of games, but uses various Free 
software to get what he needs done. He didn't, and probably won't, 
email the list because he doesn't feel talking about Ghostscript (a 
gpl'd application) on windows is appropriate for a Linux User Group.

Here are some examples of what I feel are good topics for this group, 
and some that are not.

Good Topics:

1) Anything Involving Linux, BSD, etc ...
2) Running Microsoft Office on Linux with wine or crossover office
3) OpenOffice.Org, Gimp, and any other GPL (or other Free license)  
Running on Windows, MacOS X, BeOS, Solaris, etc ...
4) Topics that concern Free software, licenses and copy rights.
5) Just about any programming topics, thought I would prefer not to 
discuss visual basic in an MS Application.
6) Many others ...

The only topics that I would discourage are those that involved only 
proprietary software. I don't want to discuss running MS Office on 
Windows (or MacOS X). I don't want to discuss Running MS-SQL on Windows 
Server ... but I wouldn't mind discussing SQL in general, just use it 
in the mySQL context.

What do others thing about this? I would like to gather enough 
information now about this and place a page on the website so that 
people know what they are welcome to discuss with us.
