I personally don't like talking about running proprietary software on
linux in order to use proprietary software on linux (the crossover for
MS Office case) but I won't fight that. And for visual basic, I don't
see visual basic .NET and only .NET because that's a practically a
completely different language and will be supported in Mono. Other
then that, I agree.

I'd like to add that I think bringing Lawrence Lessig on to the board
of the FSF marked a turning point in the framing of free software in
the larger context of free culture and free society and I feel that
those larger topics are also welcome to be discussed on this
list. Even if they are not computing specific, I believe a majority of
the readership here is interested in them.

And I should really start using this channel to drum up some folks to
help me with some Hurd/L4 work ;)
