Re: Wireless network cards

have you verified that the orinocco modules are loaded?  

as root, run lsmod and look for orinoco_cs ( i think that's the right
module).  if you don't see it or just want to skip searching just run
modprobe orinoco_cs

after doing that, try repeating your previous steps
