I checked some links found through google, like http://cert.uni-stuttgart.de/archive/debian/laptop/2003/07/msg00230.html and I used their manfid, with the same negative result. And what actually am I expecting to see? I never had this card working, that's why I'm wondering if all I have to do is to put the right script in /etc/pcmcia/hermes.conf, run "service pcmcia restart" and "iwconfig" should show something differnet than [root@hp andrei]# /sbin/iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. sit0 no wireless extensions. If that's what I am after, then so far it never worked. At this point, desperate as I am, I am ready to radical moves, like changing the whole distro. Can anybody, who has Orinoco card running under Linux, let me know what distro and what settings to use? And frankly, no matter how much we can improve the structure of our organization, things like these will be the major obstacle for Linux acceptance. I am probabbly the only person in this group who's a 100% Linux user, and things that Window's users get for granted I am fighting to fix for weeks if not months! Isn't that the real issue here?
