Photos at http://freesoftwarepc.com/Members/fspc/morlug/morlug-photos . The meeting involved a "free for all" format where we talked about a variety of subjects. The attendees all were fairly experienced so I found myself jotting down interesting suggestions on subjects varying from hardware to various devices that utilize GNU/Linux to programming languages to theopencd.org .. TheOpenCD.org came up because there was quite a bit of interest on how to advocate Free Software. There were two WVU students attending who expressed a definite interest in being part of the student organization! Eric Ryan Craig Schiffbauer According to tradition, afterwards, the meeting continued on irc at #morlug and Erik Anderson who is a new incoming WVU student expressed an interest and Andrei Perhinschi who is a High School student who will be taking WVU courses also was interested. I believe as long as you are taking some courses that makes you a WVU student. Finally, we have Daniel Harris Peter Hein (another new incoming WVU student) The next meeting on August 31st will be an InstallFest. Here's the plan. At this point we have enough students to put together a student organization. This should be done quickly over the next two weeks. Then the new student organization will find an adequate location for the Fest. Then we need to promote the meeting, flyers being an important component. Presently, we already have a volunteer for Gentoo installations - Erik Anderson. More info, about the InstallFest coming, but think Linux, FreeBSD, Hurd, TheOpenCD, live CDs, etc, and think about bringing in people who have no prior experience with any of these things, and you begin to understand what an InstallFest is about. We will set aside a large time slot for it, too. Also, in attendance at tonight's meeting: Craig's brother, Ryan, Eric S., and Deborah.
