Sadly, i'll be out of town for that meeting. Though, after that my schedule should return to normal. I have a couple of the official ubuntu discs for both x86 and PPC (both the live disc and the install discs). I can make a handful of copies of each of those to help the installfest cause. I would like to suggest a couple of things: 1) Ignore the Hurd for now. It isn't usable except by developers, and anyone that would be willing to put the time into getting it to work either already has or could on their own. (Though, I would love to see another talk/demonstration on the Hurd and the progress it has made since David Smith last presented it to us. But that is a whole meeting topic in itself.) Though, it might be interesting to have the hurd with us. It might be fun to try to get it working on an older box or in a VMware session during downtime that we might have. 2) You might want to consider moving the meeting to the saturday before or after. That way you could have more time for the installs. Normally our meetings end around 8->8:30 ... for a weekday evening that is about the extend that I think most people can handle. You posted a HowTo to #MorLUG on IRC ... it says there that the duration show be from 6 to 10 hours. This isn't even remotely possible on a weekday for most people. Also, if you do it the saturday before (8/27) i'd be able to attend and help out :-P. (Though, the saturday after (9/3), i would not). Mike. [email protected]
