These would be my only concerns: 1) Time: Depending on how many people show up, the event may need to run past 8:30. Installing a new OS and getting updates typically takes an hour or 2 depending on the speed of the machine. 2) Network: We'll need a network connection that un-registered MAC addresses can connect to. We wouldn't want to send people home without all the current software updates. I know ESB used to be picky about letting people on their network that weren't registered with them. MorLUG can provide switches and/or hubs to handle the networking issues in the room. (if ESB can't provide a port that's open to unknown MACs we could setup a NAT through a computer that is registered with them) 3) Power: we can provide a number of power strips, so this shouldn't be too large of a problem. Other than those, combining efforts defiantly makes sense for this. I'm going to try to arrange my schedule to make the ACM meeting this wednesday ... if you could find out about #2 above by then that would be great. I strongly recommend that MorLUG's officers attend the meeting if they are available. From morlug's standpoint the only thing that would change for us is the meeting time and location. I don't think we have our promotional materials yet, so it shouldn't be too big of a problem. Mike. MorLUG Faculty Advisor [email protected]
