Hi all, I'm copying both the ACM and MorLUG mailing lists on this, since the information seems pertinent to both groups. I haven't heard any comments from the ACM group or the officers of MorLUG about combining the two events (I wasn't clear if Jonathan spoke for all of MorLUG, or was throwing the idea out there to both groups at the same time). So I thought I'd go ahead and put my thoughts out there. I agree that duplicating effort seems silly. If the idea is to have a well attended event, it makes more sense to me to go ahead and combine the two (although the final decision is the ACM's, and not mine alone). The posted info about LinuxFest details the main things we have planed at the moment: http://wvu.acm.org/linuxfest/ We've reserved one of the assembly rooms in NRCCE on Wed., Oct. 26 from 5-9, with plans to run the event from 5:30-8:30 (so we have time to set up before and clean up after). We've requested two projectors. One will continually run the presentations we'll be giving (which have been recorded so they can be repeated easily during the event), and the other will be available for live demos. We've also requested 7 tables and 30 chairs. We plan to serve refreshments in the form of pop and cookies, chips, etc. The ACM is scheduled to have a meeting this coming Wednesday, the 12th, at 5:30pm in Brown. Any chance some of the MorLUG members can attend so we can discuss combining the two events? With the 26th just about 2 weeks away, we need to get on this if we all decide to go ahead and combine the two events. -- ~Katie [email protected] "I have not failed.
