Dear all Thanks for the many and varied inputs, suggestions and recommendations, which I will now digest and ruminate on! As we already have a few Windows and Mac computers within the family and little extra space, I’ll most likely focus on the ex-lease IBM laptop route as a next step along from the EeePC, which is fine but for the small screen and limited resources. I have followed the advice regarding my nearest LUG (Auckland) and joined the mailing list for starters.
