hi Mark,

It's all part of evolution data server. Whether you can safely remove
it, will depend on whether the distribution has evolution-data-server as
a dependency for GNOME.

You could also try just killing the process and nuking ~/.evolution, so
that even when the process is resumed by the calender applet, it won't
have any calender content. *

(* Although I'm not sure if the calender applet will start
evolution-data-server if it's not already running)
