I have to say i've really appreciated 'teamviewer' lately.  Most
particularly because I run Linux, Dad runs Windows, and it 'just works'.
Free for noncommercial use.
I used to use VNC for remote admin purposes but it's not anywhere near
as efficient.  Because Teamviewer is instigated client-side it also
saves the need to pinhole stuff through NAT devices...
