I'm starting to be sorry I joined the lists. I hoped to meet other
people who had an interest in Linux, not people who call each other
demons and the like.

A former girlfriend used to LOVE Microsoft Bob. It worked for HER. It
didn't have to work for ME because I never used it, but I ridiculed her
love of it. In the end, more was lost than merely the use of a program
that actually WAS productive for one person.

Whomever liked the Mac Lisa - hurrah! I used a C=64 until 1988, as it
still ran circles around the PC in my opinion.

Linux is about CHOICE - so those who CHOOSE to go to PLUG, congrats!
Those who CHOOSE to go to PDXLUG, good for you! Those who go to BOTH -
you must have the patience of a saint or else don't let the other people
know.

What in the world is WRONG that you people have to constantly flame each
other?

Why doesn't ONE group take the higher road and offer to change your
name? PLUG.org (as pointed out) belongs to the Provo Linux Users Group.

I'm disappointed that I got two responses about interesting projects
such as rolling your own (or ANY other interesting project going on),
but there are 76 (as of this writing) regarding NAMING (or is that
flaming?).

I like how Josh is trying to make POSITIVE distinctions. How about
changing to Columbia River Linux Users Group, or something that doesn't
have a .com/.org attached already? It's almost painless to change the
nameservers and domain registration.

How about Yet Another Portland Linux Users Group? It stays within geek
tolerance levels for most. Members could be Yappies (as it seems that
there certainly is a lot of talking). FOR THE MOST PART, I've seen that
Linux users like to talk, and generally like each other, and often poke
good-natured fun of themselves.

I could suggest two dozen names if you don't like any of these.

Rus
