The difference is that granny can't afford a support staff.  
Let granny run Windows.  I love Linux, and I don't want to see it
go down the Windows route.  I am focusing on getting educated 
competent people out there converting companies without 
"point-and-click" Linux on the management side.  However, a 
competent support staff can make Linux easy on the users side.

It is not that I prefer command-line only, it is just that
point-and-click interfaces hide too much from me.  Sometimes I can 
configure better and faster with vi.

I wish you luck with the granny crowed, but IMHO, it is the wrong
direction to go with Linux.  This is something that Linus talks
about also.    

However, that being said.  I sincerely hope that one of us has an
"I told you so" coming when Linux has reasonable adoption!
