Some nice repositories to choose from:

KDE: http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/

GNOME: http://people.ecsc.co.uk/~matt/repository.html

..those get you the bulk of the basics... i have approx 6 or so
different repositories that I use currently. If I find something that
isn't in apt, then I bug the FreshRPMS mailing list and ask for it.
Every once in a while they listen and add something for me. :-) (like
"madman")
