My graphics card is a G-Force FX 5500 128 bit w. 256MB DDR using a DVI connection to my new 19" TFT monitor. So far, no need for me to manually reconfigure X11. I think the installer correctly set of US keyboard for me. If you have an amd64, I'd like to think that you won't have these type of problems.
