Re: squid increasing log files

Configure your squid configuration:
 
 1) logfile_rotate 10 
 
 according to the squid.conf file -
 #  TAG: logfile_rotate
 #       Specifies the number of logfile rotations to make when you
 #       type 'squid -k rotate'.  The default is 10, which will rotate
 #       with extensions 0 through 9.  Setting logfile_rotate to 0 will
 #       disable the rotation, but the logfiles are still closed and
 #       re-opened.  This will enable you to rename the logfiles
 #       yourself just before sending the rotate signal.
 
 
  2) cache_access_log none
      cache_store_log none
 This solution is more advisable, but you will loose your log files. If you are not reviewing the contents that were accessed, it is better to configure them that way, to minimize the usage of your disk space.

  hi guys,
ive been running squid now for 1 month. Im having some
thoughts on the logfiles located on /var/log/squid.
They kept increasing and ive read before that to solve
this problem is to configure logrotate conf files. can
you please enlighten me with this one. tia
