knowing file descriptor in kernel level..

Hi,

When a socket is created in user space, it returns
file descriptor.My query is Is there any way to know
this fd from the structure sock or from the inode
ponting to this socket from the "kernel" level.
Actually I am trying to find :
When a packet comes to TCP/Ip stack I want to find to
which sesson t belongs.If I know the file descriptor
of that connection from the packet's sock structure or
somehow, I can compare with the file descriptor
returned from socket created in user space.
Is there any better method to do this?? Hope kernel
gurus will help me.
