This was why I was willing to pay a premium for the the Thinkpad.  I
expected the Thinkpad to last 5+ years.  It is disappointing to have it
break down after 3 years.   I would expect that from other models or brands
but not for the Thinkpad.

I also have high expectations for support.  I immediately sent my laptop
for servicing the following day.  It has been a week now and I have not
received a diagnosis.  My follow up email remain unanswered.   The manager
at the service counter told me to expect 1 month repair time.  I would be
lucky to have my laptop fixed in a month.  Another customer who picked up
her laptop after servicing told me that it took the repair center 5 months
to find a keyboard for her Thinkpad.  Wow it was that long.  And the
service center I went to is already the main branch at the IBM Building in
Eastwood.  I guess this is now the norm with Lenovo.  A friend of mine from
abroad also had his Lenovo laptop broke down after a week. And the repair
took about a month.

So now I am considering a Dell.  I have an eye on the XPS 13 but it is
quite pricey.  Performance is not really much of a consideration for me.  I
want durability and long battery life more.  Other laptops I am considering
are the:

Sony Vaio Pro 13
HP Probook

Anyway, I can go a max of 8 hours, according to the battery indicator

The specifications above more than fulfil my needs.  Its good to know about
this line from Dell.  I will read up more about them.
