Californians: check your voter registration, and election notes

Public service announcement:  For California voters, Monday, Oct. 24 
is the last day to register, or change your registration, to vote for the 
upcoming November 8th general election.  As always, that is 15 calendar
days before Election Day.

Some counties enable voters to check and correct registration online,
others don't.  http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/registration-status/
The CA Secretary of State also operates a voter registration facility:
http://registertovote.ca.gov/

I strongly recommend taking a moment to check.  In 2006 after I moved a
few blocks and foolishly relied on DMV to notify the Registrar of
Voters, only on Election Day did it became obvious that didn't happen.
I was obliged to vote a provisional ballot (which may or may not be
counted).
