Quoting Steve Litt ([email protected]): > I'm going to find out more about GitLab. I don't know a _lot_ about it. It's a Web-based front-end to git repos (thus, like GitHub in that sense). The Wikipedia page says the codebase was originally written in Ruby, with some parts later rewritten in Go. So, at least it's not yet another PHP nightmare. ;-> The sponsoring company relies on an 'open core' business model to make money, e.g., I assume that various value-add goodies get merged into the proprietary 'GitLab Enterprise Edition' but not the MIT Licensed GitLab Community Edition. (My quick reading suggests that all of the Go-language rewrites were for the Enterprise Edition.) There are doubtless also open-source rivals to GitLab CE.
