sorta OT: looking for localish colo

Hello folks, long time lurker & occasional poster.

We have a situation at the $dayjob where we need to host a spare VPN and
a linux box in a colo. Any recommendations suggestions on colo, driving
distance from SF bay area, with decent interconnectivity, where they
have some sort of security & compliance program?

We already talked with:
- Hurricane Electric: completely flaked on us, though really cheap for a
full rack. Even an email to their CEO was worthless.
- Sonic: Responsive, pricey for only 2U. not willing to deal with the
compliance requirements we have.
- Equinix: expensive
- QTS: expensive
