Redhat make money from their support contracts with companies, but the free version which they maintained was a serious drain. Not only did rh patch security holes (and such) in their latest releases but they also backported them to olsder releases, you see how much of a resource drain that is. If you think fedora may end up inferior in some way I dissagree, look at other non comercial distros like debian. Also dont under estimate the skills and support a community run rh will keep/get. As to free, costs, Linux maybe free to obtain, it was never free for buisnesses to maintain. Either they have to employ in house staff or buy support contracts with another co. like rh, or a combination of both. As to free, freedom, remember unlike with MS a co. is not locked to any distro and can always relatively painlessly switch to another provider and keep their existing apps. I wish rh the best of luck in a successful linux buisness.
