Re: Mail server question

Does it get any easier if you have you have a T1 with a handful of static IPs?
As you can probably discern from my earlier posts I am faced with the possibility of having to create my own mail server because I need the ability to filter emails via their attachments and I would like to do so on the server side so I don't  end up downloading messages I don't want. I can't seem to find a service provider who will give me a reasonably priced email address and shell with procmail support without signing up for web hosting.  So it looks like I'm off to create my own mail server. I do have static ips but I'm not even sure how to use them at this point.

My 2 cents I would agree... For learning it is a good idea. BTW, I have 
a little home server with ISPConfig running. Like a charm if I may say 
so myself,
