Re: (OT) Thinkpad tablet pens and a ubuntu/tablet question

1) Came across an nice thinkpad x41 notebook/tablet, however I lost the 
darn pen for it. Does anyone know where I can get a cheap replacement?

I bought a replacement for my x61 tablet from Amazon (after dropping it
into a cup of coffee).
Warning, they aren't cheap ($50 or so) and since mine worked after a
good rinse and a thorough drying (Wacom styli only contain passive
components), I now have a spare in case of future mishaps.

2) Has anyone had any experience getting ubuntu (or any flavor - i'm not

locked into any specific one) to run on these tablet PC's including on 
screen keyboard when in tablet mode? Any resources would be greatly 
appreciated. I think i'll try out ubuntu without destroying the winxp 
tablet edition partition using WUBI unless that's a bad idea.

As for Ubuntu, 10.04 worked mostly out of the box.  I had to add a
script to handle the screen rotation when switching from laptop to
tablet, but was able to find good examples online.

The only thing I haven't gotten working yet is the button on the stylus.
 On the Emporer custom build, it was the right-mouse-click.  Maybe
someday I'll miss it enough to research it some more.

For mine, I just bought a second hard drive ($40 or so from New Egg
IIRC) and did a fresh install.  That's how I do the desktop and it is
sure nice to have the old install to fall back on if things go sideways.
