There was a startup of the Meetup group:
"Uniforum Chicago Linux Meetup Group"
which last met at IIT October.  Jeff Jirsa gave a presentation on using VMs
like Virtual Box and VMWare. The November meeting was cancelled.
There are 31 people who are interested in such meetings on this meetup
group.
I would view this as a Linux SIG of the Uniforum group which has met at IIT
for years:
