FIrefox on Linux problem *CTS

OK, what am I doing wrong? There is a list of square dances on a group web page (squaredancechicago.com). They have links to individual copies of flyers for individual groups, usually PDF. On windows, this opens in another firefox tab, and if the directory site installs a new flyer, I can refresh the firefox tab to get the new one. The link appears to be "http://www.squaredancechicago.com/fl-motivaters.pdf" On Linux, it opens in a separate window, which appears (from help/about) to be "Document viewer 2.28.1", thought the window title is "Hotmail - [email protected] - Windows Live". There is no way to "refresh this", but if I purge the casche in firefox I get the new version of the download. I didn't think downloads were cached, but I guess they are. I don't want to have to purge all my cache every time I need to check if MAYBE a file has been changed. Where does hotmail or Windows live come from? I have no clue.
