Is this a meaningful test of the USB performance?

I copied a big file to the dd-wrt.  Then I read it and wrote it

root@myrouter new $ ls -lah big.file
-rwxr-----    1 nobody   65534      469.8M Sep  5 23:33 big.file

root@myrouter new $ time dd if=/mnt/share/new/big.file of=/dev/null
962103+1 records in
962103+1 records out
real    0m 16.02s
user    0m 1.53s
sys     0m 9.53s

470MB / 16s = 29.375 MB/s

Is this meaningful of the max the router can read?

I also did:
root@myrouter new $ time cp big.file big.file.2
real    0m 39.77s
user    0m 0.19s
sys     0m 14.28s

Which seems consistent that it can read and write at about the same speeds.
