Well, yeah, if you want a no-effort simple guide to getting a box with
virtualization it's "plan on spending more than $100" - no current
production Athlon or Phenom CPU lacks it, and that's been the case for
long enough that you won't find pre-AM2 parts in any new machine.  For
older machines being sold used (or *any* Intel based machine, as it
pops in an out from model to model, wtf) you gotta know what to ask
about, and how to understand the answer.

A less quickly moving target than Craig's ads stapled to local
telephone poles <grin> would be pacificgeek.com, but even there you
have to sift through various offerings, and I'm not sure how likely you
are to get a box that meets your goals for $100.  But perhaps for
little enough more that you can stretch it, if the hardware
virtualization is really important.
